- Rava - 2 c
- Water - 4 c
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Mixed Veg - 1 c
- Onions (medium,chopped) - 1
- Green Chillies - 3
- Ginger (finely chopped) - 1 inch
- Curry Leaves - 10
- Veg. Oil - 3 Tbsp
- Mustard - 1/4 s
- Urd dal - 1/4 tsp
- Chana dal - 1/4 tsp
- Jeera - 1/4 tsp
- Heat 1 Tbsp of Oil in a Thick Pan (Kadai).
- Add Rava and fry on medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Keep stirring to avoid burning the Rava.
- Remove the fried rava into a bowl.
- Heat 2 Tbsp of Oil in the Kadai.
- Add Mustard. When it splutters add Jeera, Channa dal and Urd dal and fry for few minutes.
- Add Curry leaves and Onions. Fry till Onions turns transparent.
- Add chopped ginger and mixed veg along with salt and turmeric.
- Cover and cook vegetables for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- In the mean time boil water and add to the Kadai then add the fried Rava little at a time and keep stirring.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Tip : For tastier Upma add one more table spoon of Oil or ghee.
